Serapis: 1980’s on Laclede’s Landing @ Kirkwood Performing Arts Center

In the Strauss Black Box Theatre at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center
Since their debut in 1982, Serapis has captivated audiences with a unique blend of rock, reggae, swing, blues, funk, Americana, and pop, all interwoven with original compositions. This performance will take you on a musical journey through 44 years of history, highlighting the band’s evolution from their early days on Laclede’s Landing to their current status as local legends.
With a rich history that includes residencies at iconic venues like Uncle Sam’s Plankhouse and Mississippi Nights, and performances at festivals, wineries, and events across the region, Serapis has become synonymous with authentic rock music in St. Louis.
In the Summer of 1982, Tony Chambers (guitar, vocals), Gene Carroll (bass, vocals), Steve Snyder (drums), Rick Clifford (sax), Brian Casserly (trumpet, vocals) and Jim Gould (sound, trumpet) played their first gig as Serapis at The Festival of The Little Hills in St. Charles Missouri. Along the way, Serapis would include; Randy Desplinter (drums), Todd Luerding (keys and vocals), Mark Moebeck (guitar, vocals), Bob Gleason (drums), the late Gordon Bland (guitar, keys) and a long list of fabulous musicians that have helped out along the way. The band motto is, once a member of Serapis, always a member. (It’s kinda like a tattoo.)
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the dynamic sounds and enduring legacy of Serapis in an intimate setting. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to their music, this concert promises to be a memorable evening celebrating one of St. Louis’s finest.
