Our members made it happen

“On behalf of all our members, volunteers, and listeners, we would like to thank you for your votes. We hope this award will attract many new listeners to join The Roots family.”

Nobody expected us to win. After all, we were competing against multi-million dollar, out-of-town media companies. But our members delivered,  and most have been voting every day.

The best part is that the promotion and publicity delivered a large number of new listeners. Our audience was up 45% for the first two days,  and has maintained a 25% increase ever since. Below is the story that appeared on the St. Louis Magazine website. Our primary target is the 400,000 people who visit the magazine’s website each month.  We interspersed six different digital ads with the A-List stories.  Each ad featured our new Roots logo and Free Form Radio slogan.

But our primary goal was for readers to click on our LISTEN NOW hyperlink. They are then transported to our new website landing page, complete with audio streaming links and other editorial content about The Roots. The site and our landing page will be available for twelve months.

But the star of the landing page is 12 custom Icons created by Roots volunteer Diane Reichert. Readers can click on the icons and listen to one-hour on-demand samples of our different specialty programs. Click on the link below to visit the page and sample our speciality shows.
