Various

The Budos Band is celebrated for their instrumental Afro-soul sound, blending Ethiopian music influences with soul, funk, jazz, psychedelic rock, and even proto-metal.  Their music has been described as “doom rock Afro-soul big band with a ’70s touch” and likened to a Quentin Tarantino-curated Bond film soundtrack.  The band’s sound is characterized by a powerful horn section, tight rhythm, and cinematic arrangements, often incorporating elements from 1970s jazz, funk, Afrobeat, underground rock, and heavy metal.

The band members lineup has been fluid but typically includes:

  • David Guy and Andrew Greene (trumpets)
  • Cochemea Gastelum (tenor sax)
  • Jared Tankel (baritone sax)
  • Dame Rodriguez and Vincent Balestrino (percussion)
  • Thomas Brenneck (guitar)
  • Robert Lombardo (congas)
  • Mike Deller (organ)
  • Daniel Foder (bass)
  • Brian Profilio and John Carbonella Jr. (drums)

Over two decades, The Budos Band has built a reputation for dynamic live performances and a unique instrumental identity that bridges multiple genres, earning them a dedicated following across four continents.

This is one you will not want to miss!
