Captain Bulkhead and The Portholes are a St. Louis–based quartet known for their yacht rock and funky instrumental sets. The group’s lineup is:
- Dave Farver – vocals, saxophone
- Pete Ruthenburg – vocals, keyboards
- Eric Grossman – vocals, bass
- Joe Meyer – drums
They are seasoned musicians with backgrounds in other notable acts, such as El Monstero, Superjam, Ralph Butler, Dangerous Kitchen, K’s Choice, Javier Mendoza, and Mama’s Pride.
Their music blends smooth yacht rock from artists like Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, and Ambrosia with occasional nods to The Beatles, Traffic, and Dave Mason, along with original compositions.
The Kirkwood Summer Concert Series has live music on Thursdays at Kirkwood Plaza Station, 200 S Kirkwood Rd, Kirkwood, MO 63122
