DESCRIPTION:BOZ SCAGGS is an American singer\, songwriter\, and guitarist. An early bandmate of Steve Miller in The Ardells and the Steve Miller Band\, he began his solo career in 1969\, though he lacked a major hit until his 1976 album Silk Degrees peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200\, and produced the hit singles “Lido Shuffle” and “Lowdown”. SUMMARY:The Infamous Stringdusters @ Old Rockhouse
DESCRIPTION:Forward motion belies creativity and evolution. A staunch and unwavering commitment to progression is how an unassuming group of five friends can collectively become a GRAMMY® Award-winning force of nature. That’s exactly how it happened for The Infamous Stringdusters. Within thirteen years since their 2005 formation\, the band—Travis Book [bass\, vocals]\, Andy Falco [guitar\, vocals]\, Jeremy Garrett [fiddle\, vocals]\, Andy Hall [dobro\, vocals]\, and Chris Pandolfi [banjo\, vocals]— have consistently forged ahead\, relentlessly exploring the musical possibilities of a “bluegrass ensemble” and breaking down boundaries in the process. \nThe motion includes a prolific output that rivals any act in music. In 2017 alone\, they released three projects: Laws of Gravity\, Laws of Gravity: Live\, and Undercover Vol. 2 through Lumenhouse Recordings. Impressively\, the band’s eighth full length record\, Laws of Gravity\, received a 2018 GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Bluegrass Album”\, bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Heatseekers Chart\, and marked their third debut at #1 on the Bluegrass Albums Chart with Undercover Vol. 2 becoming their seventh Top 10 entry. Recognized by some of the top names in the game\, they teamed up with Ryan Adams for performances of “Sweet Carolina” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and at Telluride Bluegrass Festival\, and Newport Folk Festival. Phil Lesh also tapped them as his band for Phil and Friends at Lockn alongside members of Phish. \n“I just hope that our music gives people a chance to feel free; free from the burdens of everyday life that we all have\, free to just be themselves and be happy\,” Falco leaves off. \n“It’s an amazing gift to play this music\, to share this journey with these guys\,” concludes Book. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything\, there’s no other gig I’d rather have\, no other place I’d rather be than in the moment making this music. This band\, our organization and crew\, we’re a family and I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope we can do this for years to come.”

SUMMARY:Pigeons Playing Ping Pong w/Dogs in a Pile @ The Sovereign
DESCRIPTION:“We pour every ounce of ourselves into every note when we perform live\,” says Pigeons Playing Ping Pong singer/guitarist Greg Ormont. “When we’re recording in the studio\, we try to maintain that euphoria while finding a way to pack it into a tight\, focused vessel. Each song becomes like a spring-loaded can of worms: there’s all this energy boxed up in a neat little package\, and then when you come see us live\, the cap comes off and the contents fly out in every direction like fireworks.” \nBlending infectious funk grooves\, psychedelic jams\, and experimental electronics\, the Baltimore four-piece’s new album\, ‘Pizazz\,’ is a buoyant\, blissful reminder of just how much fun music can be. Eschewing the traditional funk band lineup that typically includes keyboards\, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong constructs effervescent soundscapes with just two guitars\, bass\, and drums\, crafting their music with a sophisticated ear for both open space and dense layering. \nSince the group’s inception nearly a decade ago at the University of Maryland (where the band’s name came to Greg Ormont and singer/guitarist Jeremy Schon during a moment of transcendence in Psych 100)\, they’ve built up a reputation as one of the most engaging and life-affirming acts on the road\, maintaining a relentless tour schedule that has them performing up to 200 shows a year and hitting festivals from coast to coast.

SUMMARY:Renaissance @ Wildey Theater
DESCRIPTION:BIG UNEXPECTED NEWS!  A once in a Renaissance lifetime event!!\n\nMessage From Annie Haslam – “This is where the BIG news started\, in Edwardsville\, Illinois originally last October and the last two shows on our In Gratitude Farewell tour. Memorable shows\, lovely enthusiastic audience and beautiful intimate theater – The Wildey!  Then\, moving forward to August 2025\, I was approached by an Edwardsville/St Louis promoter to return to the Wildey Theatre for a ‘one woman” show!  After many phone calls\, it was decided to go ahead but with some music added… and then it just grew a lot bigger from there\, that now included Renaissance. These will be once in a lifetime shows\, presenting a format I would never have dreamed up myself. Kudos to the promoter who talked me into this.  It brought me together again with my old friend and founder of Renaissance as well as the The Yardbirds\, Jim McCarty to partner up to discuss the history of Renaissance. It will be followed by Jim along with Renaissance (including me) performing several of his songs\, then Renaissance will take the stage. SUMMARY:Wishbone Ash @ Wildey Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Half a century spent touring while continually releasing live and studio albums\, Wishbone Ash is now gearing up for their “Wishlist Tour” featuring Argus\, an evening of requests gathered from their fans on social media. \n“I love the interactive element of this\,” says Andy Powell\, founding guitarist\, vocalist and songwriter.  “We have so many chapters\, lineups and flavors in our music. There’re more than 500 songs\, and we continue to write new ones. It is fun to let the fans decide.” \n“In some ways our career is like a smaller but global version of the Grateful Dead’s\, where radio was not the primary path where people discovered our music. Many of our fans came on board through word of mouth and exposure to our fan community. With such a long and varied history\, fans have followed us closely through certain eras during which they might have come of age musically speaking. They’ll have their favorite songs that they’ll ask us to play. So\, we decided to give them the show they want!” \nContinual touring has kept the band in top shape\, and kept fans engaged to share their concert experiences with their friends\, which continues to bring more fans\, even through the pandemic period.

SUMMARY:Rum Drum Ramblers @ The Focal Point
DESCRIPTION:For over a decade\, Rum Drum Ramblers have bridged the gap between pre-war string band country blues and post-war city blues\, with a blend of deep-welled influences\, instrumental prowess\, and raw feeling. Mat Wilson (guitar\, vocals)\, Ryan Koenig (harmonica\, washboard\, mandolin\, fiddle\, vocals)\, and Joey Glynn (upright bass) have recorded two studio albums and have become one of St. Louis’ most celebrated roots outfits through their dynamic\, feel-good live performances. \nSince forming in 2006\, the Rum Drum Ramblers have been honing their original St Louis string band blues in barrooms\, clubs\, street corners\, listening rooms and festivals. Powerful dual lead vocals by Mat Wilson and Ryan Koenig and the ever-stylish slap bass of Joey Glynn weave through a tapestry of syncopated resonator guitar\, screaming harmonica\, mandolin\, fiddle\, bones and washboard. This trio of multi-instrumentalists have a refreshing groove that swings at a perfectly danceable pace. \nThe Rum Drum Ramblers have netted local awards such as “Best Blues Band” and “Best Blues Album” over the years. One of the final protégés of Henry Townsend\, guitarist Mat Wilson is a living link to the origins of St. Louis blues. Their road-warrior chops shine through in their playing\, and their songwriting glistens with the depth of experience. Their music is both timeless and exciting\, and the band plays with sincerity and respect to the original blues forebearers.
