SUMMARY:Recovery Fest STL 2025 @ Kirkwood Park Lion's Amphitheater
DESCRIPTION:Recovery Fest STL is an alcohol/drug-free festival of Fun\, Music\, and Connection celebrating the St. Louis Recovery Community and their allies. And it’s Free! \nBelow are the bands schedule: \n12-1:30PM: Steve Ewing Band \n \nSt. Louis-based musician Steve Ewing is best known as the golden voice behind the seven-piece powerhouse The Urge. \nThe Urge was formed in high school in the late 1980’s – an eclectic mix of reggae\, hip hop\, ska\, and punk that sent a sonic shockwave through the Midwest music scene that can still be felt today.  Many St. Louis natives fondly remember The Urge from their intense\, face-melting shows at venues such as Mississippi Nights and local festivals like PointFest.  Today\, Steve Ewing continues to play actively with The Urge\, the Steve Ewing Band\, the Steve Ewing Duo and Master Blaster\, and also owns and operates Steve’s Hot Dogs – home of the Official Hot Dog of St. Louis. \n2-3:30PM: Jake’s Leg \n \nDeadheads in St. Louis know Jake’s Leg.  The band and their audience have an on-going dialogue based in their mutual love of the music. \nThey have been providing music for the scene for 49 years\, playing thousands of shows to generations of like-minded fans who just wanna keep on dancin’. Maybe you’ve heard them in some dumpy little bar like the old Twenty North or at Busch Stadium: they’ve played’em all and continue to do so on a regular basis. And the band keeps growing. \n4-5:30PM: Sean Canan’s Voodoo Players \n \nSean Canan’s Voodoo Players is a dynamic collective of St. Louis musicians\, renowned for their unique approach to live performances. Led by guitarist and musical director Sean Canan\, the group reimagines the music of legendary artists\, offering fresh interpretations that captivate audiences. Since their inception in 2014\, they have become a staple in the local music scene.  There is no other band in the St. Louis area that will tackle the multitude of musical creations that Voodoo Players does with such tenacity and energy.

SUMMARY:Cimmaron 615 @ Wildey Theatre
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nYou’d be hard-pressed to find a band with a more impressive collective resume than Cimarron 615. \nThe quartet — just releasing its second\, self-titled album — is a hall of fame-caliber assemblage\, with credits that look like a who’s-who of Americana\, country and rock history. “We’ve all been around a long time and done a lot of work — and a lot of it together\,” notes drummer Rick Lonow. “There’s history here.” \nWhere the four musicians intersect is via the famed country-rock band Poco. Lonow and Jack Sundrud were its longtime rhythm section until the band ceased when co-founder Rusty Young died in 2021. Michael Webb played in the band for eight years\, while Ronnie Guilbeau co-wrote Poco’s 1989 Top 20 single “Call It Love” with Lonow. Webb and Sundrud co-produced Poco’s All Fired Up album in 2013\, and Lonow\, Webb and Sundrud played on Young’s 2017 solo album\, Waitin’ for the Sun. \nThen there are the individual credits\, which include many path-crossings with each other over the years. Lonow’s discography includes albums for Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash\, Loretta Lynn\, Nanci Griffith\, “Cowboy” Jack Clement\, Ryan Bingham and many more\, has toured with the Bellamy Brothers\, and was part of the all-star Burrito Deluxe. Webb played on iconic albums by Chris Stapleton\, John Prine\, Mark Germino and others\, as well as hitting the road with John Fogerty and Hank Williams\, Jr.; he was also part of the all-star Brooklyn Cowboys. Sundrud played with Dickie Betts\, Vince Gill\, and Nicolette Larson\, and formed the group Great Plains. And Guilbeau — who\, like Sundrud\, worked in the California country-rock scene before moving to Nashville — was part of the bands Palomino Road and GYG. \nCimarron 615 came to be after Young’s death\, when Blue Elan Records chief Kirk Pasich organized a tribute concert and album and brought Sundrud\, Webb and Lonow together in Los Angeles as part of a house band for several projects – and heard the potential for more. Guilbeau rounded out the line-up in 2023. \n

SUMMARY:Texas Headhunters @ Old RockHouse
DESCRIPTION:Johnny Moeller’s guitar playing is full of voodoo and lighting. The floating bent notes\, delicately singing phrases\, bursts of staccato picking\, and ringing piano-like chords that he sculpts into vibrant solos bring all the beauty\, power\, and mystery of the blues to life. Yet he’s impossible to pigeonhole. Although Moeller’s the latest in a long line of six-string wizards to hail from Austin\, he upholds the Texas music tradition not by imitating the licks of legendary Lone Star State players who’ve influenced him — like Albert Collins\, Lightnin’ Hopkins\, the Vaughan Brothers — but by being a maverick.    “The truth of the matter is I’ve never really tried to emulate anybody else\,” explains Moeller\, who’s wrapping up a daring new solo album. “There are lots of great guitar players who inspired me\, and singers and saxophone players\, too. But I don’t like to limit myself to purely one style of music. I have my own thing\, which is blues based\, and then I like to mix in everything else I love: soul\, jazz\, funk and rock ‘n’ roll.” \nJesse Dayton is an American\, Austin\, Texas-based Americana artist\, best known for his guitar contributions to albums by country musicians including Johnny Cash\, Waylon Jennings\, and Willie Nelson. He is also notable for his collaborations with horror film director Rob Zombie\, who has commissioned Dayton on multiple occasions to record music to accompany his films. Dayton was born in Beaumont\, Texas\, where he was raised on the music of George Jones\, Hank Williams\, and Lefty Frizzell\, all the while harboring an affinity for the spirit of punk with bands like the Clash. After touring with two rockabilly bands\, the Road Kings and the Alamo Jets\, Dayton ventured off into solo territory\, recording his Americana-chart-topping record Raisin’ Cain. Since then Dayton has released several different solo albums and worked with a variety of country rock artists\, most notably Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash on Right for the Time after Jennings injured his picking thumb and required a guitar stand-in. \nIan Moore (born August 8\, 1968 in Berkeley\, California\, USA) is a guitarist and singer-songwriter from Austin\, Texas. He studied violin as a child but later switched to guitar. His music contains elements of psychedelic rock\, soul\, folk\, rock and roll\, world music and blues\, with deep literary influences. After playing guitar in Joe Ely’s touring band and appearing on one studio album\, he spent time in Austin with his own groups\, first Ian Moore and Moment’s Notice\, then The Ian Moore Band. While attending The University of Texas at Austin\, Moore played in Austin regularly\, quickly developing into one of Austin’s largest draws.

SUMMARY:Jake's Leg Saturday\, June 28 @ Old Rock House Doors @ 7PM Show @ 8PM
DESCRIPTION:Deadheads in St. Louis know Jake’s Leg. The band has been providing music for the scene for 49 years\, playing thousands of shows to generations of like-minded fans who just want to keep on dancing. Maybe you’ve heard them in some dumpy little bar like the old Twenty North or at Busch Stadium: they’ve played’em all and continue to do so regularly. And the band keeps growing. \n\n10-year or longer stints with Jake’s Leg\, which is a remarkably\n\n\n\n\n \nIt’s not The Grateful Dead and it’s not supposed to be. While they draw mainly on the repertoire of America’s favorite psychedelic blues-rock jug band\, Jake’s Leg naturally bring their own sensibilities to each part. The introspective singer-songwriter\, the jazz stylings of an improvising soloist\, rock-solid dance grooves\, mind-bending jams: all are in play at their shows. The music can take you anywhere you want to go. And with their long-term unity and very capable musicianship\, Jake’s Leg makes it a great-sounding trip.
