SUMMARY:Umphrey's McGee @ The Pageant
DESCRIPTION:  \nChicago’s eclectic rock band Umphrey’s McGee has been keeping fans on their toes for nearly 28 years now. Though often pigeonholed into “jam band” circles\, Umphrey’s doesn’t fit that traditional mold\, and their fans don’t either. Is it prog rock? Song-forward\, Beatles-esque arrangements? Be careful\, they might hit you with some metal riffs mid-set\, too. Pushing 3\,000 live gigs and 300 million+ tracks streamed\, you-had-to-be-there moments include the band’s performance at the first-ever Bonnaroo and selling more CDs (remember those?) than any other act on the bill. \nA leader in the live music world\, Umphrey’s McGee became the first group to launch its own single-artist streaming service with UMLive.net\, which houses recordings of every show since 2005. The service has since grown and now lives on through Nugs.net\, used by the likes of Pearl Jam\, Bruce Springsteen\, and more. \nIn April 2025\, Umphrey’s led their faithful fans on another bucket list musical adventure: Morockshow\, a three-night event in Marrakech\, Morocco. This marked yet another signature international destination for the band’s one-of-a-kind live experiences. \nAs Umphrey’s McGee steps into their next chapter\, they remain a band in constant evolution—restless\, fearless\, and deeply connected to their audience.

SUMMARY:Morrissey @ The Factory
DESCRIPTION:Morrissey’s influence and music legacy is irrefutable. Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in British pop as well as one of the greatest lyricists of his generation\, Morrissey has thirteen solo studio albums\, a string of No.1 records\, and an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British music. Morrissey has recently received a 2024 Social Vanguard Award in recognition for his ‘outstanding service and dedication to Animals Rights’. \nAs lead singer of The Smiths\, he marked forever the history of music with only four albums. As a soloist\, he has consolidated a sound that still reverberates today making him one of the most acclaimed voices of the last four decades. When the debut single from The Smiths\, “Hand In Glove\,” first emerged\, the musical landscape was forever changed and launched a rich catalog of songs that includes anthems such as “This Charming Man\,” “How Soon Is Now?\,” “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out\,” “Suedehead\,” “Everyday Is Like Sunday\,” “Irish Blood\, English Heart\,” “First of the Gang to Die\,” and many many more.

SUMMARY:Al Holliday & the East Side Rhythm Band @ City Winery
DESCRIPTION:For fifteen years now\, Al Holliday & The East Side Rhythm Band has grown\, and been known as “Pound for Blues Pounding Pound amongst St. Louis music’s best”\, all the while developing and evolving in their own signature St. Louis style\, combining elements of classic Soul\, Rock\, Blues\, Jazz\, Gospel\, R&B\, Country-Funk\, and Americana; and weaving them into their instantly-familiar anthems\, and serving them up on recordings and high-energy live shows – at home\, across the country\, and around the world. \nSt. Louis music is a lineage the band is proud to carry on – and be a part of\, in their own humble way. For those who like to study these kinds of things\, when it comes to St. Louis music: It’s clearly not quite like New Orleans music\, it’s not Memphis Blues and Soul\, but it is definitely not completely unlike either of these other great music traditions of the Mississippi River\, either. \nThis band strives to both carry on and exemplify what sets the St. Louis traditions apart from the others\, for example\, the raw soul power and intensity carried only by the likes of an Ike and Tina\, Albert King\, or Oliver Sain; or more to the point in this artist’s instance: Bonnie Bramlett\, David Sanborn\, or Michael McDonald.

SUMMARY:Mattie Schell & Allie Vogler w/ Jackson Stokes @ Atomic
DESCRIPTION:Talk about having one helluva a year! Singer-songwriter Mattie Schell has certainly had one—touring with the Allman Betts band\, playing at the annual MerleFest among other marquee venues\, signing with Nashville-based Compass Records and releasing a promising new album. \nA native of St. Louis with a vocal style reminiscent of the late Janis Joplin\, Schell combines the heartfelt honesty of Americana with the raw power of soul—creating a sound that is both fresh and rooted in tradition. She began her professional career in 2014 as a member of River Kittens\, a promising St. Louis-based duo celebrated for its harmonies\, heartfelt lyrics and raw energy. Schell and her then-Kittens partner Allie Vogler are together again for this show. \nSchell spent the summer touring with Jackson Stokes after performing much of the year with the Allman Betts Family Reunion\, the Southern rock collective led by Allman and Duane Betts. As she forges ahead\, with support from Compass—which also represents artists such as Leftover Salmon\, past guest John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band\, A.J. Croce\, Colin Hay\, Molly Tuttle\, Robbie Fulks and others—Schell is focused on enjoying the ride and making sure her fans know that she loves what she’s doing.

SUMMARY:Marquise Knox @ City Winery STL
DESCRIPTION:Marquise Knox knows the Blues. Marquise is a Blues phenom that hails from St. Louis\, Missouri. But that’s not all\, with his smooth voice and heartfelt lyrics\, he’s created quite a buzz throughout the world. Performing professionally since 13 and sharing stages with the likes of late greats like B.B. King\, Pinetop Perkins\, David “Honeyboy” Edwards\, and even Billy Gibbons just to name a few. \nAlthough he’s comes from a musical family\, he’s stated that the blues was always in his blood! As a child\, he learned guitar from his grandmother\, Lillie along with his uncle Clifford. These two people were a major influence in his life growing up in his early years. Later being mentored by revered legendary bluesman\, Henry James Townsend\, a foundational figure in St. Louis blues history. \nWhile he’s done a lot since his debut many years ago\, he continues to become a force and has even joined music legends ZZ Top and Cheap Trick on their 50th Anniversary Tour! Marquise continues to perform and play festivals all over showing exactly that he indeed knows the Blues!

SUMMARY:Anthology (Allman Brothers Tribute) @ Wildey Theatre
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nLive Broadcast by The Roots FM!\nPre-show at 7:00pm\nLive Concert at 7:30pm\n\nSECOND SHOW ADDED!!\nThis is a band comprised of seasoned musicians who have a passion for the legacy of the Allman Brothers\, but what sets this ensemble apart from any others is their personal connection to the Allman Brothers – Gregg Allman in particular. Two of the Anthology band members (vocalist Danny Liston and bassist Dickie Steltenpohl) played in the band Mama’s Pride\, who were signed to Atlantic Records by the legendary Ahmet Ertegun.  At one point in their career\, they crossed paths with Gregg Allman. He was so impressed with their understanding of the feel for his music\, that he asked them to be his band. So\, playing the music of the Allman Brothers became part of their DNA. \nOther members of the band include Tom Denman – keyboards\, Terry Midkiff – guitar\, (who also plays with Amanda Fish)\, Matt Rowland on guitar (who also plays with the Catapults)\, Rob Lee – drums (Rob toured for years with Mike Zito and is a Nashville session player)\, and Joe Meyer drums (who formerly toured with Nikki Hill) \nIt’s Allman Brothers the way they would play it; not note for note\, but with the kind of passion that ABB music evokes.

SUMMARY:Anthology (Allman Brothers Tribute) @ Wildey Theatre
DESCRIPTION:This is a band comprised of seasoned musicians who have a passion for the legacy of the Allman Brothers\, but what sets this ensemble apart from any others is their personal connection to the Allman Brothers – Gregg Allman in particular.

SUMMARY:Jake's Leg Annual Holiday Acoustic Show @ The Focal Point
DESCRIPTION:Spanning the generations\, Jake’s Leg has been performing the music of The Grateful Dead for nearly 50 years. \nStarted as a duo by guitarists and vocalists Randy Furrer and Tim Fahy in 1976\, lead guitarist Dave Casper soon joined the fold.  Players were added and the music grew; friends came and went.  Some of them had 10-year-or-longer stints with Jake’s Leg\, which is a long career for most non-touring rock bands.  Bassist Joe Trunko came on board in 1990\, followed in 1991 by keyboardist Bill Noltkamper\, completing the core four that have been playing and singing together for over 34 years.  Ryan Wilhite\, after a short stint as percussionist\, took over the drum kit in 2005.  The band and their audience have an on-going dialogue based in their mutual love of the music.  If you’re a fan of the songs of The Grateful Dead\, do yourself a favor and see Jake’s Leg. Your friends will be there\, and the music never stops. \nThis will be an acoustic performance exploring the folkier roots of the Grateful Dead. The show will likely not be the perfectly silent listening room experience the Focal Point is known for; however\, the Focal Point promises that it will be great fun for all.  Dancing recommended but not required.  There will be LIMITED SEATING.  The Focal Point plans to leave plenty of the dance floor open.  To ensure seat procurement\, please arrive a little bit before the 7:30 doors open as seats will be first come\, first served.

SUMMARY:Spafford @ Old Rockhouse
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nOn New Year’s Eve in 2009\, guitarist Brian Moss and bassist Jordan Fairless joined up to play a show in their home state of Arizona and ring in a new decade. Moss and Fairless had been playing the same open mic nights and after their first successful joint effort decided to team up and officially form a band: Spafford. After playing shows in their home state\, the pair found themselves on the hunt for a new partner to help them round out their group. They found keyboard player Red Johnson\, and on the following New Year’s Eve asked him to voyage out to Las Vegas. Johnson agreed\, and has been with the band ever since. Now\, with drummer Cameron Laforest\, the band brings their vibrant\, dynamic music to the world at large and pushes the boundaries of what a jam band can be.\nSpafford is known for their astonishing improvisational ability\, which they’ll use to play live off the cuff extended jams. Each song is a blank canvas\, and Spafford paints a picture in real time each night with a musical palette known only to each other. It’s a private language comprised of their talent as musicians\, and of their formidable catalog of influences – ranging from Steely Dan\, to electronic acts like The Crystal Method\, to 90’s alt rock radio hits. Every show is a sonic pilgrimage – the journey of a team of musicians so in tune with each other that a single note communicates intent and purpose.
