SUMMARY:Renaissance @ Wildey Theater
DESCRIPTION:BIG UNEXPECTED NEWS!  A once in a Renaissance lifetime event!!\n\n\nMessage From Annie Haslam – “This is where the BIG news started\, in Edwardsville\, Illinois originally last October and the last two shows on our In Gratitude Farewell tour. Memorable shows\, lovely enthusiastic audience and beautiful intimate theater – The Wildey!  Then\, moving forward to August 2025\, I was approached by an Edwardsville/St Louis promoter to return to the Wildey Theatre for a ‘one woman” show!  After many phone calls\, it was decided to go ahead but with some music added… and then it just grew a lot bigger from there\, that now included Renaissance. These will be once in a lifetime shows\, presenting a format I would never have dreamed up myself. Kudos to the promoter who talked me into this.  It brought me together again with my old friend and founder of Renaissance as well as the The Yardbirds\, Jim McCarty to partner up to discuss the history of Renaissance. It will be followed by Jim along with Renaissance (including me) performing several of his songs\, then Renaissance will take the stage. An evening of the best Symphonic Rock music ever\, no doubt we really have come full circle!”\n\n\nThere will be two shows at the Wildey Theater\, Edwardsville\, Illinois\, on November 21st and 22nd.\n\n\nSURPRISE news for this Saturday show……………\n\n\n\nAndy Powell of Wishbone Ash will be joining Renaissance on stage for ASHES ARE BURNING this coming Saturday 22nd of November at the Wildey Theatre\, Edwardsville\, Illinois -he plays his iconic solo at the end of our 1973 recording.\n\n\n\n\nThis will be for one night only not to be missed and will go down in the ‘History of Renaissance’!

SUMMARY:Pigeons Playing Ping Pong w/Dogs in a Pile @ The Sovereign
DESCRIPTION:“We pour every ounce of ourselves into every note when we perform live\,” says Pigeons Playing Ping Pong singer/guitarist Greg Ormont. “When we’re recording in the studio\, we try to maintain that euphoria while finding a way to pack it into a tight\, focused vessel. Each song becomes like a spring-loaded can of worms: there’s all this energy boxed up in a neat little package\, and then when you come see us live\, the cap comes off and the contents fly out in every direction like fireworks.” \nBlending infectious funk grooves\, psychedelic jams\, and experimental electronics\, the Baltimore four-piece’s new album\, ‘Pizazz\,’ is a buoyant\, blissful reminder of just how much fun music can be. Eschewing the traditional funk band lineup that typically includes keyboards\, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong constructs effervescent soundscapes with just two guitars\, bass\, and drums\, crafting their music with a sophisticated ear for both open space and dense layering. \nSince the group’s inception nearly a decade ago at the University of Maryland (where the band’s name came to Greg Ormont and singer/guitarist Jeremy Schon during a moment of transcendence in Psych 100)\, they’ve built up a reputation as one of the most engaging and life-affirming acts on the road\, maintaining a relentless tour schedule that has them performing up to 200 shows a year and hitting festivals from coast to coast.

SUMMARY:The Infamous Stringdusters @ Old Rockhouse
DESCRIPTION:Forward motion belies creativity and evolution. A staunch and unwavering commitment to progression is how an unassuming group of five friends can collectively become a GRAMMY® Award-winning force of nature. That’s exactly how it happened for The Infamous Stringdusters. Within thirteen years since their 2005 formation\, the band—Travis Book [bass\, vocals]\, Andy Falco [guitar\, vocals]\, Jeremy Garrett [fiddle\, vocals]\, Andy Hall [dobro\, vocals]\, and Chris Pandolfi [banjo\, vocals]— have consistently forged ahead\, relentlessly exploring the musical possibilities of a “bluegrass ensemble” and breaking down boundaries in the process. \nThe motion includes a prolific output that rivals any act in music. In 2017 alone\, they released three projects: Laws of Gravity\, Laws of Gravity: Live\, and Undercover Vol. 2 through Lumenhouse Recordings. Impressively\, the band’s eighth full length record\, Laws of Gravity\, received a 2018 GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Bluegrass Album”\, bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Heatseekers Chart\, and marked their third debut at #1 on the Bluegrass Albums Chart with Undercover Vol. 2 becoming their seventh Top 10 entry. Recognized by some of the top names in the game\, they teamed up with Ryan Adams for performances of “Sweet Carolina” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and at Telluride Bluegrass Festival\, and Newport Folk Festival. Phil Lesh also tapped them as his band for Phil and Friends at Lockn alongside members of Phish. \n“I just hope that our music gives people a chance to feel free; free from the burdens of everyday life that we all have\, free to just be themselves and be happy\,” Falco leaves off. \n“It’s an amazing gift to play this music\, to share this journey with these guys\,” concludes Book. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything\, there’s no other gig I’d rather have\, no other place I’d rather be than in the moment making this music. This band\, our organization and crew\, we’re a family and I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope we can do this for years to come.”

SUMMARY:Chicago Farmer @ Focal Point
DESCRIPTION:Chicago Farmer has quickly become a Focal Point favorite with his witty banter and excellent songwriting. \nThe son of a small town farming community\, Cody Diekhoff logged plenty of highway and stage time under the name Chicago Farmer before settling in the city in 2003. Profoundly inspired by fellow midwesterner John Prine\, he’s a working-class folk musician to his core. His small-town roots\, tilled with city streets mentality\, are turning heads North and South of I-80. \n“I love the energy\, music and creativity of Chicago\, but at the same time\, the roots and hard work of my small town\,” says Diekhoff. Growing up in Delavan\, Illinois\, with a population less than 2\,000\, his grandparents were farmers\, and their values have always provided the baseline of his songs. \nHe writes music for “the kind of people that come to my shows. Whether in Chicago or Delavan\, everyone has a story\, and everyone puts in a long day and works hard the same way\,” he says. “My generation may have been labeled as slackers\, but I don’t know anyone who doesn’t work hard – many people I know put in 50-60 hours a week and 12-hour days. That’s what keeps me playing. I don’t like anyone to be left out; my music is for everyone in big and very small towns.” \nHe listened to punk rock and grunge as a kid before discovering a friend’s dad playing Hank Williams\, and it was a revelation. Prine and Guthrie quickly followed. The name Chicago Farmer was originally for a band\, but the utilitarian life of driving alone from bar to bar\, city to city – to make a direct connection to his audience and listener\, took a deeper hold.

SUMMARY:Randy Rogers Band @ The Sovereign
DESCRIPTION:Camaraderie and creativity have made Rogers and bandmates Geoffrey Hill (guitar)\, Johnny “Chops” Richardson (bass guitar)\, Brady Black (fiddle)\, Les Lawless (drums) and Todd Stewart (utility player) one of the top bands on the competitive Texas music scene. \nA native of Cleburne\, Texas\, Rogers grew up addicted to traditional country music. “I wanted to be George Strait when I was in the sixth grade\,” he says with a smile. “And I grew up listening to Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard\, I’ve listened to them more than anybody else\, my whole life. I always liked songs. I always wanted to find out who wrote the songs and what the songs were about. I always liked the art and the craft of being a songwriter. \n“You come to a show\, you know what you’re going to get\,” Rogers says. “We’ve worked hard at making ourselves better on stage and we care about our live show. It’s a way to come out and unwind\, and we’ve stuck to writing songs that are about real life\, about breakups or divorces\, falling in love or babies being born\, the ups and downs of life. People can relate. That’s what country music is supposed to be. Our band has been around for a long time because there’s no bullshit to us. We’re not in it to be rich and famous. We’re in it to make a living\, provide for our families and do something that we all love. You can’t fool people and we haven’t ever tried. I think that’s the key.”

SUMMARY:moe. @ The Pageant
DESCRIPTION:Thirty-five years ago\, a posse of University of Buffalo-based musician-friends got together to play music. Out of freewheeling sessions bursting with bold\, genre-defying creativity and tongue-in-cheek humor\, a 6-headed monster named moe. emerged. \nDecades later\, moe.’s tireless work ethic\, DIY resourcefulness\, infectious songwriting\, and highly-engaged fanbase—the Famoe.ly—have enabled the sextet to earn a successful career. Yet\, the guys have never rested on their laurels as “jam band pioneers.” They average 100 shows per year\, and regularly release vital new music\, including the band’s latest album\, Circle of Giants (ATO)\, its 13th release. \nmoe. is a brotherhood\, featuring bassist/vocalist Rob Derhak\, guitarist/vocalist/keyboardist Al Schnier\, guitarist/vocalist Chuck Garvey\, drummer Vinnie Amico\, percussionist/vibraphonist Jim Loughlin\, and keyboardist Nate Wilson. The six-piece band came up in the primordial pouch of the early jam band scene\, alongside Blues Traveler\, Spin Doctors\, Widespread Panic\, and Phish. \nLauded by American Songwriter for its “mind-bending musicality\,” moe. is beloved for its sonic adventurousness\, unbridled showmanship\, and its witty and insightful songwriting. NYS Music has said: “moe. has redefined what’s possible within the genre\, leaving a lasting impact and challenging listeners to rethink the limits of musical expression.” \nSince releasing its foundational album\, Fatboy\, in 1992\, moe. has issued a vast and varied series of now-classic records. Select studio album highlights include 1998’s Tin Cans & Car Tires; 2004’s Wormwood; 2007’s The Conch (which reached #1 on Billboard’s “Heatseekers” chart); and 2012’s critically acclaimed What Happened To The La Las.

SUMMARY:Grateful Shred @ Old Rockhouse
DESCRIPTION:Founded one night in 2016\, the band came about almost by accident. Singer/guitarist Austin McCutchen had a residency at The Griffin in Atwater Village; his band was out of town\, so he drafted some friends to play a set of Dead covers\, and the four founding members (Austin\, Sam\, Clay\, and Dan) have been together ever since. Sam Blasucci and Clay Finch (of country-folk revivalists Mapache) handle vocal and guitar duties\, rounded out by bassist Dan Horne (of Cass McCombs\, Jonathan Wilson\, and the estimable Circles Around The Sun\, who provided the incidental music for 2015’s “Fare Thee Well” concerts\, the last shows played by the living members of the Dead ). Add a rotating cast of drummers (like Richard Gowen of he Growler) and keyboardists (like Lee Pardini of Dawes and Jerry Borgé of Ziggy Marley)\, and you’ve got the essential formula. Far from being a historical re-enactment\, Grateful Shred’s laissez faire vibe infuses the band with a gentle spirit\, warmth\, and (dare we say it) authenticity.

SUMMARY:Keller Williams @ Atomic Pavillion
DESCRIPTION:Musical Mad Scientist\, Keller Williams\, returns to Atomic Pavilion (St. Louis MO) in support of his new album “Deer”.  Keller is best known for his whimsical lyrics\, guitar prowess and for creating samples on the fly in front of the audience\, a technique called live phrase sampling or looping\, with nothing pre-recorded. The end result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica\, a genre Keller jokingly calls “acoustic dance music” or ADM.”

SUMMARY:Walter Trout @ Wildey Theatre
DESCRIPTION:All of us are broken. But no-one is beyond repair. It’s a philosophy that WALTER TROUT has lived by during seven volatile decades at the heart of America’s society and blues-rock scene. Even now\, with the world more fractured than ever – by politics\, economics\, social media and culture wars – the fabled US blues man’s latest album\, Broken\, chronicles the bitter schisms of modern life but refuses to succumb to them. \n“I’ve always tried to write positive songs\, and this album is not quite that\,” considers the 72-year-old of an all-original track listing that rages and soothes. “But I always hold on to hope. I think that’s why I wrote this album.” \nFor the last half-century\, however rocky his path\, hope has always lit the way. The beats of Trout’s unbelievable story are well-known: the traumatic childhood in Ocean City\, New Jersey; the audacious move to the West Coast in ’74; the auspicious but chaotic sideman shifts with John Lee Hooker and Big Mama Thornton; the raging addictions that somehow never stopped the boogie when he was with Canned Heat in the early-’80s.Even now\, some will point to Trout’s mid-’80s guitar pyrotechnics in the lineup of John Mayall’s legendary Bluesbreakers as his career high point. But for a far greater majority of fans\, the blood\, heart and soul of his solo career since 1989 is the main event\, the blues man’s songcraft always reaching for some greater truth\, forever surging forward\, never shrinking back.

SUMMARY:The Liston Brothers w/Anthology @ The Pageant
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating 22 Years of Performing at The Pageant\, featuring Pat Liston\, Danny Liston & The Liston Brothers Band! \nPat and Danny last shared the stage together in 2013 as MAMA’s PRIDE on the ‘The Midwest Express Tour’ with STYX\, REO\, Ted Nugent  & MAMA’s PRIDE at Verizon Amphitheater. \nSince then\, Pat and Danny both have pursued solo and band projects separately.  It was time\, they decided to take another go of it and collaborate on a project together\, since the last time they had done so\, was in ’92 with the ‘Guard Your Heart’ CD. \nHow to merge their two very unique sounds and styles\, was going to be a challenge\, especially at this stage of both their careers and lives.  It had been too long\, to just wing it\, as they did in their younger years.  So\, when you’re not sure how to go about the task of merging and blending 2 very different artist\, you go back and visit your roots.  What  inspired them as young artist and moved them\, then go forward from there.  To let this unique sound develop over time.  Thus\, the idea of ‘The LISTON BROTHERS’ was born.

SUMMARY:Shakedown Sunday w/Jake's Leg @ Jefferson Barracks Amphitheater
DESCRIPTION:It’s not The Grateful Dead and it’s not supposed to be.  While they draw mainly on the repertoire of America’s favorite psychedelic blues-rock jug band\, Jake’s Leg naturally bring their own sensibilities to each part.  The introspective singer-songwriter\, the jazz stylings of an improvising soloist\, rock-solid dance grooves\, mind-bending jams:  all are in play at their shows. The music can take you anywhere you want to go.  And with their long-term unity and very capable musicianship\, Jake’s Leg makes it a great-sounding trip. \nStarted as a duo by guitarists and vocalists Randy Furrer and Tim Fahy in the mid-1970s\, lead guitarist Dave Casper soon joined the fold. Players were added and the music grew; friends came and went.  Bassist Joe Trunko came on board in 1990\, followed in 1991 by keyboardist Bill Noltkamper\, completing the core four that have been playing and singing together for the past 26 years. Ryan Wilhite\, after a short stint as percussionist\, took over the drum kit in 2005.  The sum of this is one of the longest-lasting bands in the country that plays a whole lot of your favorite songs\, and you’ll find them playing in and around St. Louis. \nIf you’re a fan of the songs of The Grateful Dead\, do yourself a favor and see Jake’s Leg.  Your friends are there\, and the music never stops.
